HEL-X® Bio Carriers (MBBR Media)

HEL-X bio-carrier originates from Germany. It is used as a carrier medium in Wastewater Treatment process which is known as Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR). It is one of the most efficient wastewater treatment processes, that is suitable for treating municipal and industrial wastewater. MBBR technology is used to separate the organic substances, nitrification, and denitrification. The special HEL-X structure offers a maximum growth area for colonization of biomass with the formation of biofilms on the surface of the carrier media at a low weight. This significantly reduces the size of the aeration tank (by upto 75%) and reduces the civil footprint of the Treatment Plant. The HEL-X bio-carrier is also applicable for the capacity increase of existing plants.
